Art Work from HELL

I just wanted to share this beautiful mural that my kids put on their bedroom wall. Since I'm in full fledge "Nesting" mode I am going paint crazy. So I'm painting Liz and Mason's room and this what I had to cover up. Also besides the mural there was about 700 holes I had to fill. With the help of Jared and Tesla, I was able to get the whole room done. Sunday I got a break from the kids and painted the living room. Friday I finished the hall way. I love the new colors and it makes my house feel clean. Imagine that, my house "Clean."

Assassin Cats

Last night I couldn't sleep. I was too hot and can't stop thinking about all the things I have to do before this baby comes. So after washing walls and cleaning the living room, I crashed on the couch at about 1 am. Why the couch, you ask? Well Lizzie was in my bed and I was so hot. The windows were open in the living room and the wind blew just right, onto the couch. After being asleep for some time I was awoke by a creepy, tortured, chirpy sound coming from the window. (Or so I thought.) Now if you know me at all you know that BIRDS FREAK ME OUT!!!!!! I realize it is a ridiculous fear but its mine and I hate them. Every bird could be wiped off the planet and I would be just fine.

Anyway, the sound kept getting closer and closer and I knew I had to get Chris cuz at this point. I thought it was stuck in between the screen door and the front door. But in my mind I was just worried that it was in the house, so it took all I could do to get up and run down the hall. Now remember it is really late or early however you look at it. Chris has been asleep for hours. I went into our room and had to wake him up. When you wake up Chris you don't get too close cuz he always wakes up swinging, so I stood by the door and hollered, being careful not to wake up Lizzie. He thought I was a little crazy but did get up. After he went down the hall it was evident that the bird was in the house and the cats were responsible. Jasper and Alice were running around stalking this bird. To make it really hard to see the bird, we do not have a light in the living room. Our house was built in 1978 and apparently people didn't use lights back then. So in the dark, Chris is in his skivvies, looking for the assassin cats target. He finally found it and tossed it, ALIVE, outside. I was hiding in the doorway of my room the whole time, cuz what if the freaking, little eye pecker came down the hall. We went back to bed, me in bed not on the couch.

Not to much later, I was asleep, but not enough to not wake suddenly. I heard Chris say
"Damn Cats" as he lept out of bed. And sure enough Jasper and Alice had caught the creepy bird AGAIN and brought it back in the house ALIVE. So after Chris got the bird and the cats out again, he block the cat door so they couldn't get in. I thought maybe they would have given up being shot down twice, but NO!!! This morning as Jared (my brother that is building our addition), and I are shoveling old insulation into trash bags, what do I find? But sure enough a dead bird. I don't know who put the hit on this nasty little bird but the job is done. In my new bedroom. GROSS!!!! But if you ever are looking for an Assassin, Jasper and Alice are your guys, or cats, for hire.

Bitter Sweet Goodbyes!

Over the last week I have been going through what seems like thousands of totes of baby clothes. I realized about 2 weeks ago this baby is coming and we are far from ready. Yes I'm ready to have my body back and not die from the heat, but if he came home today I would have not one thing ready for him. We haven't even got a car seat yet, or even pick a name. I do have his quilt top finished and I'm taking it in tomorrow to Amy for her to quilt. But I think she is a month or so out on her schedule so hopefully I can get it done before I have the baby. But I didn't want to tell you all about my lack of organization and preparedness. I am so excited to be going through all the baby clothes from the last 11 years and 4 previous children. It will be nice to have just the one or two totes left that he will grow into. But as I sort through each outfit I reminisce seeing each child in that particular outfit. I'm not getting rid of a lot of the boy stuff so that is not as hard as tossing aside all the baby girl clothes Lizzie once wore. With the boys I aways knew another child of mine would wear it, but with her it is the end. I won't have another girl. No more cute pink onesies or sleepers, or white corduroy bell bottoms. Boys just don't look that great in those. It is an end of an era for me and even though it is nice to know that my family is complete, I will miss all the pink baby stuff. Not to say that blue baby stuff isn't good, it is just not as fun the 4th time around.

Today we spent the day at my mom and dad's with my baby sister. She came to Idaho for the 4th to spend it with her boyfriend and they came up today to visit us. My kid's were so excited to see her. I don't think we have seen her since Christmas. It was nice to visit for a little while and watch the kid's hang all over her. We actually had a nice time over all. No huge family fights, no name calling, no unwanted confrontations, it was amazing!!! We were only missing on brother, George and he is in Texas. Maybe we are going up and learning to keep our freaking mouth's shut. I guess we will see at Thanks Giving.

I just have to say that this business of not having a working camera is really starting to piss me off!! Hopefully by next week I will have a new one or my old one fixed. Sorry for that pictureless posts.
