Welcome Baby Ashton Wayne

Okay, so it has been soooo long since I wrote anything. I can give you the excuse that I have been waiting for my camera but I have decided that is a stupid reason not to blog. So I have a story to tell you about bringing our new addition into this crazy world. I will have to give it to you in a few installments. Yeah that crazy.

After a great fall on Sunday, Aug. 31st, Ashton decided head down was over rated and flipped himself Breech. We found out when we went to the doctor on Wed. Sept 3rd and when she checked me, she felt feet. Now on Sun. I had been checked and was dilated to a 4 and fully effaced with head down. And by Wed. I was a 2 and not even soft at all. How I had gone backwards was shocking to me, until the ultrasound. He had wedged his head up under my ribs.

I was given 2 options. Schedule a C-Section for the next day or try to turn him and schedule a c-section for back up if he didn't turn. Chris was voting for the c-section so I could get my tubes tied and he could escape the dreaded vasectomy. (I'm not a speller)

Thursday morning, Chris and I headed to EIRMC. After sitting for awhile and getting this crazy medicine that felt like speed, Dr Merrill came in and started to turn him. I don't know if any of you have ever experienced an Inversion, but it was so painful. His feet were way down in the birth canal, and she had to dig to get them. It was awful.

Since he wouldn't budge a c-section was in my near future. Now once in the operating room, which was a total Ice Box, I got my spinal and they started the process. It all went really fast, Chris was taking pictures and talking to me. The doctor showed me the baby and within a few seconds, I heard a CRASH.

Chris had passed out. All the nurses were all panicking since he fell in my blood and he had hit his head. They didn't know if he was bleeding or not. It took some time to get him to come to and he was not breathing. So they rushed him to the Emergency room. I was left alone without a husband and without a baby. Apparently they take the baby right to the nursery and I didn't know that. They don't do that on the Baby Story. Who knew. So I had one of the nurses call my mom to come cuz I was way out out of the loop. She got there really quick and shortly after, Chris returned from the ER. He had a nice shiner on his eye and forehead. The doctor told him since he hadn't eaten or slept, that is probably why he passed out. Chris also said it is alot different seeing your wife's blood than seeing some strangers. Bless his heart, he took all the teasing like a man. Our kids couldn't believe that their "Super Dad" had passed out.

To Be Continued.......
